Two years after writing and directing the global hit "Anyone but You," which grossed over $200 million worldwide and propelled stars Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell to new heights, director Will Gluck is set to continue his mission to revitalize the romantic comedy genre. The film was widely credited with breathing new life into the long-stagnant theatrical rom-com landscape.

According to a recent report from Deadline, Gluck is confirmed to write and direct "One Night Only" for Universal Pictures. The film will star Monica Barbaro, who rose to prominence as "Phoenix" in "Top Gun: Maverick", and Callum Turner, known for his role as Auror Theseus Scamander in the "Fantastic Beasts" series.
"One Night Only" is based on Travis Braun's script, which topped the 2024 Black List. Braun is also the co-creator of the Disney Junior animated series "T.O.T.S.". Gluck will be undertaking rewrites on the script. The story follows two strangers who, on the eve of their respective weddings, are desperately searching for a one-night stand. Universal has slated the film for an August 7, 2026 release.
