The alloy action figure series 'MORTAL MIND' from Chinese toy brand CCSTOYS has announced its latest product, 'EVA Final Model [ULTIMUS EDITION]', based on "Neon Genesis Evangelion ANIMA", is scheduled for release in November 2025.
"Neon Genesis Evangelion ANIMA" is an official spin-off novel created by Takuma Kageyama and Ikuto Yamashita. It depicts an 'if' storyline three years after the "Human Instrumentality Project" was not activated, diverging from the end of Episode 24 of the TV series "Neon Genesis Evangelion". It significantly alters many original settings, with 17-year-old Shinji Ikari, Asuka, and Rei Ayanami continuing to pilot new EVAs to prevent the "Human Instrumentality Project" from being reactivated. Among them, Shinji Ikari pilots the new unit, "EVA Final Model", whose name "Final" embodies Misato's wish that "no more EVAs need to be produced". The Final Model incorporates mysterious technology unconfirmed by NERV JPN, possessing performance that surpasses S-EVA. Its most prominent features are the "Wings of Light" that can deploy from its back for high-speed flight, and its wielder of the large Japanese sword-type weapon "Bizen Osafune".
The "MORTAL MIND EVA Final Model [ULTIMUS EDITION]" is a modified version based on the previously released standard edition. Standing approximately 30 cm tall, it recreates the design by Ikuto Yamashita with an alloy action figure specification, incorporating some original MORTAL MIND detail designs. The alloy frame provides a heavy metallic texture while offering a highly flexible range of articulation, integrating human muscle and ligament structures into the interlocking armor design. The entire unit's coloring has been repainted with multiple metallic colors for a more substantial texture, and the "Wings of Light" effect on the back has been changed from the original transparent orange to a polarized white.
In addition to the originally included abundant armaments such as the "High Vibration Particle Blade", "Electromagnetic Rifle", "Bizen Osafune", "Sanroku-shiki Annihilation Blade", and "Lucretius' Spear", a newly produced "Counter Blade" and newly designed "weapon hanger parts" have been added. The backpack not only allows for hanging various weapons but can also attach the "Wings of Light" effect parts that deploy from the back, recreating its powerful high-speed flight appearance from the series.
