Japanese toy brand TARLIN International (ターリン・インターナショナル) is collaborating with Japanese designer Maruichikyu (@cosmic_o0) to launch a very interesting gashapon toy set this August: "Gashapon Hotel" (tentative translation, カプセルホテル)! The suggested retail price is 500 JPY per capsule, with a total of four styles to collect.
The Capsule Hotel (カプセルホテル) series, created by Maruichikyu during their student days, is a diorama series that showcases various spaces within gashapon shells, filled with an abundance of objects. From cramped yet fully equipped capsule hotels featuring single beds, desks, and computers, to fantastical forest environments where bedside lamps resemble mushrooms, every detail is meticulously crafted. These works, created by Maruichikyu and friends at the time, were even sold using real gashapon machines at school festivals, which is quite fascinating.

This "Gashapon Hotel" series, produced and released by Tarlin and supervised by Maruichikyu, features four styles: "Bedroom," "Dressing Table," "Bathroom," and "Reception." Each spherical gashapon shell meticulously contains a rich variety of furniture and items, conveying a visual effect of "small yet seemingly quite comfortable." This also differentiates it from Maruichikyu's student-era works, which emphasized the independence of each piece. This gashapon series focuses more on the internal richness of each space, allowing for individual display while also implementing a "the more you buy, the more fun it is" sales strategy. A frenzy of turns can assemble a futuristic multi-sphere hotel.
