Marvel Comics and DC Comics are set to launch their highly anticipated first collaboration in decades, "Deadpool/Batman," with its debut issue slated for September 24, 2025. However, even before hitting shelves, the cover design has undergone an unexpected modification due to legal concerns, sparking widespread discussion among comic fans.
Cover artist Skottie Young recently shared a side-by-side comparison of the original and revised covers on social media, humorously commenting, "Spot the differences, I just love legal!"
The initial version featured a design incorporating "Pokemon symbols," which Marvel or DC (or potentially both) likely deemed a legal risk due to potential licensing and trademark infringement. Consequently, the new version replaces these elements with a "half Deadpool/Batman signal." While the humor remains, it deviates slightly from Young's original comedic intent.
