BANDAI Namco Group's GASHAPON division recently announced the latest product from Japanese manga artist Mine Yoshizaki's "Sgt. Frog" series: the "Sgt. Frog Keroro Ball" (ケロロ軍曹 ケロロボール) gashapon! It is currently available for pre-order on GASHAPON ONLINE, with an estimated shipping date of October 2025. The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, and there are five styles to collect.
The story of "Sgt. Frog" follows Sergeant Keroro, "Captain of the Special Advance Reconnaissance Platoon of the Space Invasion Army from Planet 58 of the Gamma Nebula," as he descends upon Pekopon (Earth) to begin his invasion. However, he is unexpectedly discovered and captured by the Hinata siblings, Fuyuki and Natsumi. To make matters worse, the invasion headquarters is forced to make an emergency retreat from Earth. Thus, Sergeant Keroro, the leader of the advance platoon, embarks on an exciting, interesting, and hilarious military (?) life coexisting with the Pekoponians.
The "Sgt. Frog Keroro Ball" transforms the heads of the Keronian characters from the story—Sergeant Keroro, Corporal Giroro, Private Tamama, Sergeant Major Kururu, and Lance Corporal Dororo—into 7.8 cm spherical charms that can be hung on bags with a bead chain to take out and about—super cute! Speaking of Keroro Balls, we wonder if any toy collectors out there still have the Keroro Ball from twenty years ago? Back then, they also released the Kero Ball (ケロボール), an important black-tech invasion tool from the series, but it seems there's no reissue this time around!
