Japan's renowned gashapon manufacturer Kitan Club, under its popular "ART IN THE POCKET" (AIP) series, will be releasing its latest product, the "AIP The Great TAROMAN: Expo Explosion Character Figures" gashapon, based on the tokusatsu film "The Great TAROMAN: Expo Explosion"! There are five types in total, with a suggested retail price of 500 JPY per capsule, expected to be released in late August 2025.
The NHK program "TAROMAN: Taro Okamoto-style Tokusatsu Drama" will make its big-screen debut in a feature-length film format – "The Great TAROMAN: Expo Explosion (大長編タローマン 万博大爆発)", scheduled for release in Japan on August 22nd. Based on the concept of a "tokusatsu hero program aired in the 1970s," it combines the surreal aesthetics of art master Taro Okamoto with iconic Japanese tokusatsu dramas, conveying a giant hero of justice with a strong Showa retro flavor, allowing for an experience beyond imagination!
The "AIP The Great TAROMAN: Expo Explosion Character Figures" gashapon meticulously recreates the characters' designs from the show in sizes ranging from 30 to 75mm, featuring five characters: TAROMAN Robot, Sun Mask Tower of the Sun, Underground Sun, Mini TAROMAN, and Justice Kaiju Water Jug Baron. The costumes are rendered with realistic metallic colors and sculpted with wrinkle details, paired with unique masks, creating a sophisticated texture.
