Following the release of the Godzilla 2001 Frog Tree, Japanese company PLEX is back with the fourth entry in their collaborative "GODZILLA VINYL ART" series, unveiling the "GVA-BC Hedorah Frog Tree Normal Edition." Priced at 26,000 JPY, pre-orders are now open until September 11, 2025, with an estimated release in October 2025!
Frog Tree (フロッグツリー) is a three-person Japanese design team renowned internationally for their sofubi art, centered around the theme of "Wa" (traditional Japanese aesthetics). Their creations transcend mere toys, blending artistic expression with Japanese traditional beauty, garnering significant attention from art toy enthusiasts worldwide.
For this latest collaboration in the GVA series, Frog Tree takes on the popular pollution monster, Hedorah! Standing approximately 22.5 cm tall, this sofubi figure captures Hedorah in its growth stage, presented with a charmingly condensed proportion. The sculpt meticulously recreates Hedorah's body details, with its large, round eyes looking particularly adorable on this unique silhouette. The Normal Edition appears to draw inspiration from Hedorah's classic cinematic appearance, featuring a spray paint application that brings out its murky, oily colors. The interplay of the paint and vinyl material reflects light, creating a high-quality finish that perfectly conveys Hedorah's formidable charm!
Additionally, a Burning Red Edition will be released simultaneously, offering a distinctly different visual experience!
