Director Zack Snyder, known for his extensive work on zombie, superhero, and sci-fi action epics, is actively shifting his focus to dramatic features. After announcing a collaboration with UFC in March for a fighter-themed film titled "Brawler" , Deadline now reports that Snyder is also preparing to shoot "The Last Photograph," a low-budget drama he has been developing for years, previously known as "Horse Latitudes."

According to Deadline, Snyder is slated to begin filming this month, with production expected to run until November across locations including Iceland, Colombia, and Los Angeles. Snyder conceived the story, while Kurt Johnstad, who previously collaborated with Snyder on the "300" series and "Rebel Moon," penned the screenplay. The duo has been intermittently developing the project since 2007, and it is now finally heading into production.
Years ago, "The Last Photograph" was reportedly eyeing Sean Penn and Christian Bale for lead roles. However, Snyder has now cast Stuart Martin (pictured left) and Fra Fee (pictured right), both of whom are also part of the "Rebel Moon" ensemble.

The film centers on a former DEA agent whose niece and nephew's diplomat parents are tragically murdered. To find his missing niece and nephew, he is forced to return to the mountains of South America, seeking help from a washed-up, drug-addicted war photographer—the only person who has seen the killer's face. As he embarks on this journey, he quickly discovers he must also confront shadows from his own past. As the two embark on an unknown journey, they begin to question everything they once believed, and the line between reality and the surreal blurs before their eyes.
