Issued by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, the 'Figure-rise Standard Amplified' series, which amplifies the dynamic expression of characters through model kit specifications, has announced the commercialization of its latest product from 'Yu-Gi-Oh!', 'Slifer the Sky Dragon'. The release date is yet to be determined.
Slifer the Sky Dragon, along with The Winged Dragon of Ra and Obelisk the Tormentor, is one of the 'Three Egyptian Gods,' a Divine-Beast-Type monster card with powerful effects in the original setting, such as gaining 1000 ATK & DEF for each card in your hand, being unaffected by Trap and Monster Effects, Magic Card effects only lasting for 1 turn, and reducing the ATK or DEF of opponent's summoned monsters by 2000 points. In the story, Slifer the Sky Dragon was also a monster card created by Pegasus based on the stone tablets from the Pharaoh's tomb, but he sealed it due to fear of the Three Egyptian Gods' power. It was later stolen by an organization led by Marik. In the Battle City arc, protagonist Yugi Muto won this card after battling Marik's puppet.
Currently, only a front-facing CG image of the developing 'Figure-rise Standard Amplified Slifer the Sky Dragon' has been released. The overall design is based on the original illustration with some modified details. Numerous movable joints can be seen in the head, arms, wings, and tail, with both lower jaws of the head featuring an opening and closing mechanism. The wing parts may be similar to the previously released 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon,' utilizing PET sheets with printed patterns to create gradient textures.
