Aura Battler Dunbine "HG 1/72 Todd Dunbine" Model Kit: Newly Recreates Jet Black Armor Colors, Boasts Modern Part Separation Standards!

Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company HOBBY Division recently announced the latest limited-edition product from《Aura Battler Dunbine》, the "HG 1/72 Todd Dunbine," scheduled for release in December 2025. This product will be sold exclusively on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.

The insect-shaped robot, the Dunbine, is a prototype Aura Battler developed in Byston Well, an alternate world nestled between land and sea. Its developer, Shot Weapon, aimed to enhance its performance beyond the first Aura Battler, the "Guied," leading to a modified system with extremely stringent Aura Power requirements for its pilot. Consequently, only three Earthlings with exceptionally high Aura Power—Sho Zama, Todd, and Tokamak—could be summoned to pilot it. The Dunbine piloted by Todd featured a black paint scheme and was shot down in the second episode of the anime. After recovery, it became a spare parts source for Sho Zama's unit.

The "HG 1/72 Todd Dunbine" is based on modifications of two previously released Dunbine models. It utilizes new molding colors to faithfully recreate the distinctive black armor and light purple transparent wings of Todd's unit. The purple sections on the head, abdomen, and limbs, along with the yellow eyes, feature independent part separation. The wings are crafted from light-gathering resin infused with pearl, allowing for diverse visual effects depending on the angle. The two cockpit hatch parts on the chest are produced using a new "semi-mirror plating" technology, replicating the in-show setting where the outside can be seen from within, but the inside cannot be seen from the outside.

Weapon accessories include an Aura Sword with a sheath and two sets of Aura Cannons equipped on both arms, allowing for dynamic battle poses thanks to the highly articulated joint design throughout the body. Furthermore, this product specially includes fully clear molded "wing & cockpit hatch parts," enabling modelers to paint them themselves and create their own original color scheme Dunbine.
