Bandai Co., Ltd. of Japan has announced the latest product from its popular Tokusatsu and monster-themed soft vinyl toy "MOVIE MONSTER" series, "Godzilla (1989) & SUPER X2", which is scheduled for release on September 27, 2025, and is based on the movie "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah".
Appearing in "Godzilla vs. Biollante", Godzilla (1989) is, in terms of its setting, the same individual as the Godzilla (1984) that appeared in the previous film. At the end of the previous film, it was artificially guided into the crater of Mount Mihara and fell into a temporary slumber. However, five years later, the American corporate conglomerate "Bio-Major" and the Saradian Republic's intelligence agency both coveted the anti-Godzilla biological weapon "Anti-Nuclear Energy Bacteria (ANEB)" developed by the Japanese government using G-cells. Conflicts during negotiations led to the eruption of the volcano, causing Godzilla to reawaken.
This time, the "MOVIE MONSTER" series includes Godzilla (1989) and the Japanese Self-Defense Forces' anti-Godzilla weapon "SUPER X2" from the film, allowing for the recreation of classic battle scenes from the movie. Godzilla, at an approximate height of 16 cm, largely recreates its appearance from the film, capturing the full-body skin texture, characteristic head sculpt, and the gradient colors of its coral-like dorsal fins. SUPER X2, with an approximate total length of 7.5 cm, features precisely crafted, high-density detailed sculpting on its armor surface.
