Bandai Spirits' popular Tokusatsu and Kaiju-themed soft vinyl toy series 'MOVIE MONSTER' has announced the latest product from the movie "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah", the "Mecha King Ghidorah ver.2.0", scheduled for release on September 06, 2025.
In the film, 23rd-century futurians, aiming to cripple Japan's national power, traveled back to 1954 to prevent Godzilla's birth. Simultaneously, they sent three artificial bio-weapons, the "Dorats," to the Marshall Islands, where nuclear tests were about to take place. These creatures absorbed radiation and transformed into the ferocious giant monster "King Ghidorah," which the futurians intended to control to attack Japan during its 1990s bubble economy. However, the futurians failed to prevent Godzilla's birth; in fact, Godzilla became even stronger than before. King Ghidorah was severely wounded and sank into the Sea of Okhotsk. To stop Godzilla's continued destruction, the futurian Emmy returned to the 23rd century first. Using contemporary technology, she salvaged King Ghidorah, replacing its lost wings, heads, and other parts with mechanical components, and creating a cockpit that humans could personally control.
The "Mecha King Ghidorah ver.2.0" features completely new sculpting and coloring. It boasts more intricate detailing for the abundant mechanical parts across its body, three distinct head sculpts, and textures for its scales and mechanical wings. Furthermore, it is adorned with rich metallic paintwork, showcasing King Ghidorah's golden body and the silver of its mechanical components, all while striving for its on-screen appearance at an impressive height of approximately 22 cm.
