BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan has announced the latest product from the live-action drama "Mass Production Type Ruka - The Blue Counterattack of the Model Club Members -", the "HG 1/144 Mass Production Type Ruka's Zaku", from the 1/144 scale Gunpla 'HG (High Grade)' series, which boasts the most diverse range of mobile suits. It is scheduled for release in March 2026.
The live-action drama "Mass Production Type Ruka - The Blue Counterattack of the Model Club Members -", co-starring Nogizaka46 idol group members Haruka Kaki and Ayame Tsutsui, is the latest series following the "Mass Production Riko" trilogy, and similarly focuses on the theme of building plastic models. The story depicts two ordinary, "expendable" high school girls, childhood friends Ruka Takamine and Ruka Seto. Shortly before entering their third year of high school, they were always members of the "go-home club" until one day they stumbled upon the "Model Club" classroom, which was on the verge of being disbanded. Through the introduction of their advisor, Mr. Yomogida, they gradually became captivated by the charm of model building.
The "HG 1/144 Mass Production Type Ruka's Zaku" is a modification of a previously released general version. The molding colors of the Zaku's joints and exterior armor parts have been replaced with two shades of pink and light blue, replicating the same color scheme as the "Mass Production Type Ruka" title logo. It also includes new stickers to reproduce the "cat motif" and "GIVE BIRTH!" text on the right shoulder, as well as a special box featuring the main visual of the two protagonists.
