The new "Superman" film, which was confirmed for a sequel during its initial theatrical run, made a major official announcement today. "Superman" star David Corenswet, "Lex Luthor" actor Nicholas Hoult, and writer-director-producer James Gunn jointly posted an update confirming that the second installment, "Man of Tomorrow," is set to premiere on July 9, 2027. This release date, like the first film's, targets an early July summer debut.

The announcement also included two significant details. First, the sequel's official title is "Man of Tomorrow." Second, the film will feature Lex Luthor in his famous comic book power armor. Gunn, Hoult, and Corenswet's social media posts today prominently featured illustrations depicting Superman alongside Luthor in his battle suit, making the implication abundantly clear. In addition to these three, Isabela Merced is confirmed to reprise her role as Hawkgirl.
