The robot-themed articulated finished product series 'ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E.', released by BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS in Japan, has announced the latest product from 'Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket', the 'RGM-79G GM Command Colony Battle Specification', slated for release in February 2026.
Compared to the early production RGM-79 GM, which saw significantly reduced production costs and the use of inexpensive parts due to urgent mass production during the One Year War, the later-produced RGM-79G series can be said to be more faithful to the original design as a mass-produced version of the 'RX-78 series Gundam'. It boasts machine performance comparable to that of a Gundam, but due to its limited numbers, it was almost exclusively distributed to soldiers with prior MS piloting experience. This release features the 'Colony Battle Specification' that appeared in the anime 'Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket'. Its primary mission is to defend space colonies and ground bases. To avoid damaging colony walls, this unit is not equipped with beam weapons such as beam rifles, but instead utilizes a 90mm bullpup machine gun.
The 'ROBOT魂 GM Command ver. A.N.I.M.E. Colony Battle Specification' is based on the previously released Guinea Pig Team Specification. The main body features new cream white and dark green paintwork to reproduce the characteristic color scheme of the Colony Battle Specification, and the backpack adopts a new design to recreate the specifications equipped with antennas and sensors.
Weapon accessories include a bullpup machine gun, a shield, and two beam sabers stored in the rear skirt armor. It also comes with a set of effect parts to recreate straight and curved beam saber effects, as well as muzzle flash from the backpack thrusters. Combined with the main body's flexible and natural articulation design and various interchangeable hand parts, you can recreate dynamic battle scenes.
