LEGO has officially announced a new set that is sending shockwaves through the global Star Wars fan community - the LEGO 75419 UCS (Ultimate Collector Series) "Death Star"! With a magnificent lineup of 9,023 pieces and 38 LEGO minifigures, this set builds the largest (and most expensive) LEGO Star Wars set in history. It flawlessly recreates all the classic Death Star scenes from "Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope" and "Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi". This set is scheduled for release in October 2025 at LEGO® Certified Stores, with a retail price of NT$35,999.

Unlike previous versions of the Death Star released by LEGO (10188, 75159), this new UCS "Death Star" departs from the traditional spherical design. Instead, it adopts a "cross-section" concept, presenting it as a display-focused diorama model.

▼ LEGO has released several 'Death Star' themed sets in the past, starting with 10143 UCS Death Star II. Compared to building a complete sphere, the under-construction Death Star II, which was destroyed before completion, offered a better visual appeal and building experience.

▼ Next came the 10188 Death Star (2008), once considered the ultimate collectible by many, with 3,083 pieces and 24 minifigures. This was followed by an upgraded version, 75159 Death Star (2016), with 4,016 pieces and 27 minifigures. In the 2017 film "Spider-Man: Homecoming," Peter's best friend Ned repeatedly invites him to build the Death Star, mentioning the set has 3,083 pieces (the old 10188), but the Emperor Palpatine he shows Peter is the flesh-toned version (from the new 75159).

The front of this LEGO 75419 UCS "Death Star" is completely open, allowing a view of six levels of classic scenes at once. This includes recreations of famous locations like the Emperor's Throne Room, the trash compactor, the detention block, the communications room, and more. It's like having a slice of the Death Star's interior on your shelf, offering immense display value. The overall dimensions are approximately 70 cm high × 79 cm wide × 27 cm deep, with a staggering piece count of 9,023, making it one of the largest sets in LEGO Star Wars history, with a piece count rivaling LEGO Icons masterpieces like the Colosseum and the Titanic.

▼ This set includes many classic scenes that were previously released as standalone sets, including LEGO 75339 Star Wars Death Star Trash Compactor Diorama,

▼ LEGO 75352 Star Wars Emperor's Throne Room Diorama

▼ LEGO 7166, 75302 Imperial Shuttle... and more.

▼ You can also recreate the conference between Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin. The inclusion of Admiral Motti surely means we're meant to reenact Vader's Force choke scene, right!?

Another record-breaking feature is that this set includes 38 minifigures, setting a new record for the most minifigures ever in a LEGO set. In addition to common characters like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Darth Vader, it also hides a delightful Easter egg minifigure: the "Hot Tub Stormtrooper" from the popular video game "LEGO® Star Wars™: The Skywalker Saga". Significantly, it also includes key characters from "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" who were instrumental in the Death Star's creation: scientist Galen Erso and Director Orson Krennic.
