Kotobukiya, a Japanese model manufacturer, has announced that the latest 10th character, "Gii," from their beautiful girl plastic model series "ARCANADEA," which blends fantasy and sci-fi elements, is scheduled for release in February 2026.
The new character, Gii, is a petite and adorable beast-humanoid dragon-type DEARS. She loves all things cute and will adopt anything that catches her eye as her minion. Having just awakened from her seal, her emotions are quite straightforward, and her judgment of various things is purely intuitive, making her seem naive and full of curiosity. However, Gii possesses top-tier combat power that is a stark contrast to her appearance, capable of unleashing powerful, special-move-like beams from her mouth to sweep away enemies.
"ARCANADEA Gii" features character design by illustrator necömi. Utilizing multi-color molded parts and pre-painted parts, it faithfully recreates numerous moe elements. It adopts a more petite articulated body compared to previous DEARS characters in the series, creating characteristic designs such as huge "moe sleeves" and a "dragon tail." It also boasts flexible multi-stage articulation, allowing both the moe sleeves and dragon tail to sway and bend naturally with the body.
Another key moe element is the most extensive range of facial expressions ever. Accessories include five pre-painted expression parts: normal face, smiling face, sparkling face, crying face, and angry face. You can also create your own expressions using the included water-slide decals and blank face parts. Furthermore, the ahoge (cowlick) on her head comes with five interchangeable shapes, including heart, dejected, and surprised. The hair roots and sideburns also feature articulation, allowing you to recreate Gii's straightforward and adorable emotional changes with various expressions!
By swapping parts, Gii's battle mode with huge wings can be recreated. The bases of the two horns on her head are articulated, and the hem parts of her robe are independently movable. The massive wings feature flexible articulation and transformation design; the main wing parts have three articulation points allowing for a maximum rotation of 95 degrees, and the bases of each feather allow the wings to spread to their fullest extent. Additionally, the wings can transform into a dragon claw form, showcasing a highly aggressive stance.
Accessories also include effect parts to display Gii's powerful special moves. A dragon's breath effect can be attached to her "angry face" mouth to recreate her adorable fire-breathing appearance. Her arms can also be replaced with parts entwined with purple flames, featuring three articulated segments and flexible joints, allowing for fierce yet cute dragon claw attacks!
