Sydney Sweeney Transforms into Boxer for David Michôd's "Christy," First Trailer Released

Australian director David Michôd, known for gritty acclaimed films like "The Rover" and "Animal Kingdom," is set to release his new feature film "Christy" this November, marking his first project in six years since the Netflix movie "The King." The film is a biopic chronicling the struggles and triumphs of the late boxer Christy Martin, with rising star Sydney Sweeney portraying the titular role.

Michôd directed "Christy" from a screenplay he co-wrote with Mirrah Foulkes, who previously collaborated with him on "Animal Kingdom" and "War Machine," and Katherine Fugate, known for co-writing "Valentine's Day." The ensemble cast also features Ben Foster, Merritt Wever, Katy O'Brian, and Valyn Hall. The film is slated for a North American release on November 7.
