To commemorate Tsuburaya Productions' largest annual event, "TSUBURAYA CONVENTION 2025," BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's toy division in Japan has announced the release of a commemorative product from the popular action figure series "S.H.Figuarts," the "Ultraman Z Original Form Special Color Ver.," slated for release in March 2026.
The protagonist of "Ultraman Z," Ultraman Z, is a passionate rookie in the Land of Light's Space Garrison, claiming to be a disciple of Ultraman Zero but not yet recognized due to his immature skills. After arriving on Earth and merging with 'STORAGE' member Haruki Natsukawa, he utilizes the Z Riser to load Ultra Medals and transform into various forms, each with unique abilities. However, he rarely uses his original form for direct combat. It wasn't until the final episode, after much training and continuous growth, that Z, reverting to his original form, successfully defeated the formidable foe, Destrudos, with his signature move, the "Zestium Beam."
The "S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Z Original Form Special Color Ver." is an updated version based on the previously released standard edition. Its entire body has been re-painted with new metallic silver, metallic blue, and metallic red colors, showcasing a brilliant appearance as if bathed in light.
The overall sculpt was supervised by Tsuburaya Productions' LSS (LIGHT SCULPTURE STUDIO) modeling department. At a height of 150mm, it thoroughly reproduces the in-show appearance, allowing for various cool battle scenes from the series to be recreated thanks to its flexible articulation design that conceals joint gaps. This version not only includes multiple interchangeable hand parts and a red light color timer replacement part, but also features his trusty companion, the "Belialok," allowing for scenes where he holds it and converses. Furthermore, the effect part for his signature special move, the "Zestium Beam," has evolved into the final episode version, creating a massive "Z"-shaped beam effect.
