Hollywood star Henry Cavill has reportedly sustained an injury during training for the upcoming "Highlander" reboot, leading to a significant delay in the film's production schedule.
Reports indicate the incident occurred during the pre-production phase. Principal photography, originally slated to begin this month, has now been canceled, with the production timeline likely pushed to early 2026. Details of Cavill's injury have not yet been released, and the actor has not commented publicly. The Hollywood Reporter noted that the crew had planned to officially commence production within weeks, but those plans are now clearly hampered.
Since confirming his involvement in 2021, Cavill has frequently expressed his passion for the "Highlander" franchise in public. Last year, he confidently stated in an interview that he would showcase a higher level of sword-fighting action than seen in "The Witcher." Now, his injury has put production on hold, disappointing fans.

It remains unclear how long Cavill will need to recover, but it is certain that the "Highlander" reboot is now unlikely to begin full production until 2026.
The "Highlander" reboot is directed by "John Wick" franchise helmer Chad Stahelski. The cast includes Russell Crowe, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Dave Bautista, Marisa Abela, and Max Zhang.
