In April, acclaimed entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider first reported on his paid blog, The InSneider, that Sydney Sweeney, whose popularity has skyrocketed thanks to recent starring roles in "Anyone but You" and HBO's "Euphoria," was set to lead the American live-action film adaptation of the iconic Japanese anime "Gundam." Now, Sneider has revealed another rising music star potentially joining the cast.

Sneider recently indicated that popular singer-songwriter Benson Boone (pictured above) is also in talks to join the "Gundam" live-action project, though his specific role remains undisclosed. Given that Sweeney's casting news was subsequently corroborated by other outlets, the accuracy of Boone's potential involvement is considered high. Jim Mickle, showrunner of the Netflix series "Sweet Tooth," is attached to write and direct the film, with Legendary Pictures producing. Paramount Pictures, which recently inked a new deal with Legendary, is expected to handle global distribution.
