BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from its popular assembly model Shokugan series 'SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT', the '3D Formation Time Robo', based on the Tokusatsu series "Mirai Sentai Timeranger", scheduled for release in January 2026.
In the series, the five Timerangers each pilot the 'Time Jet 1-5', manufactured with 30th-century technology. Each jet is not only equipped with powerful cannon armaments but also possesses the ability to transform and combine. Depending on the combination method, the Time Jets can form the giant robot 'Time Robo Alpha', which battles with immense power on land; the giant robot 'Time Robo Beta', specialized in high-speed and aerial combat; and the large fighter jet 'Time Jet Gamma', boasting extremely high maneuverability.
The 'SMP 3D Formation Time Robo' inherits the transformation and combination mechanism of the original DX toy, allowing it to recreate the three forms: 'Time Robo Alpha', 'Time Robo Beta', and 'Time Jet Gamma'. Simultaneously, the articulation has been improved, enabling both robot forms to strike dynamic battle poses. Furthermore, the 'Time Flyer', which was sold separately in the DX version, is also included and can transform into Time Robo Beta's weapon, the 'Flyer Magnum'.
The kit primarily uses black, silver, and red molded parts, complemented by pre-painted parts and color-correcting stickers to restore the distinctive colors of each machine. The cockpit hatches of each jet feature an opening mechanism, revealing the internal mini-figures of the Timerangers and the cockpit.
By transforming Jet 1 into the torso, Jets 2 and 3 into the left and right legs, and Jets 4 and 5 into the left and right arms, 'Time Robo Alpha' can be formed. The model faithfully recreates the classic head deployment mechanism seen during combination in the series; by utilizing the mechanism at the back of the head, the side armor panels can be deployed in conjunction. The magnificent 'Time Tunnel' pattern on the chest is also reproduced with a dazzling laser sticker, just like the DX toy. Armaments include the 'Space-Time Sword' and 'Space-Time Shield', with the sword's jaw featuring an opening mechanism to recreate the state for unleashing the special move 'Compress Freeze Slash'.
By transforming Jet 1 into the torso, Jets 2 and 3 into the left and right arms, and Jets 4 and 5 into the left and right legs, 'Time Robo Beta' can be formed. The model recreates the deployment mechanism of the faceplate, and exposed knee-fist areas are provided with cover parts. After transforming the 'Time Flyer' into the 'Flyer Magnum', it can be equipped in the right hand.
With the wings of the five jets folded, the 'Time Jet Gamma', boasting an elegant triangular silhouette, can be formed. The 'Space-Time Shield' can also be attached to the bottom to form a land mode, allowing it to move using the rotatable wheel parts on its underside.
