DC Comics is once again pushing boundaries, officially unveiling the Joker's terrifying new form in the "Absolute Batman" series. Described as the most R-rated design in the character's history, this new iteration is not only more grotesque and horrifying but also comes with an unprecedented power boost, leaving fans to wonder: Can Batman truly stand against such an evolved nemesis?
Readers familiar with Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta's "Absolute Batman" know the Joker has made multiple appearances since the series began, showing up in issues #1, #6, and #11, each time with a slightly different look.
However, in the upcoming Issue #15, slated for release on December 10, 2025, DC is finally set to reveal the Joker's "true form"—a demonic monster.
The new cover depicts the Joker having completely shed his previous, unassuming human facade, replaced by a nightmarish entity.
He now boasts a devilish forked tail, spinal spikes, razor-sharp fangs, an unnaturally elongated tongue, a gaping maw, and even horns sprouting from his head. The overall design blends elements of dragons and demons, presenting a Joker more monstrous than ever before.
This radical transformation is so extreme that, were it not for the cover explicitly labeling him "The Joker" and his retention of signature pale skin, red lips, and green accents, readers would scarcely connect him to the iconic character. Nevertheless, this subversive design aligns perfectly with "Absolute Batman"'s consistently dark and unsettling tone, further intensifying the story's horror atmosphere.
It's worth noting that the Joker's appearance has constantly shifted throughout the story: he was a handsome man in Issue #11, a hunchbacked, bulging-eyed grotesque in Issue #1, and even covered in baby's blood in Issue #6. Previously, fans largely interpreted these discrepancies as different phases of the Joker's identity, which seemed plausible given the non-chronological narrative.

But with the monster form now revealed, a crucial question emerges: Does this imply the existence of multiple Jokers, or is this a cursed, literal transformation, perhaps even linked to his brutal blood transfusions?
Regardless of the answer, DC's newly released cover has successfully ignited widespread discussion. "Absolute Batman" #15 is not only poised to unveil the Joker's ultimate secret but also heralds the character's most terrifying and darkest moment in history, signaling that fans are in for a story chapter that will undoubtedly challenge all preconceived notions.
