“Avatar 3: Fire and Ash” Unleashes Second Trailer; Jake Sully Reclaims Toruk Makto, Rides the Great Leonopteryx

The highly anticipated third installment of the "Avatar" saga, "Fire and Ash," dropped its second trailer and a new key art poster tonight. The biggest highlight of the new footage is the return of protagonist Jake Sully, who once again bonds with his majestic Great Leonopteryx mount, first seen in the original film.

James Cameron returns to direct "Fire and Ash," co-writing the screenplay with "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. The film is slated for a December 19 release in North America.

The ensemble cast features returning favorites Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Zoë Saldaña, Sam Worthington, Cliff Curtis, and Sigourney Weaver. New additions include Oona Chaplin, who portrays Varang, leader of the Ash People, and David Thewlis, cast as the chief of the Ta'laralim clan, a Wind Tribe.
