Hideo Kojima Reveals "Ghost" Recordings During "OD" Production; Teams Up with Microsoft for Shrine Visit to Ward Off Hauntings

Renowned game creator Hideo Kojima is once again captivating players with his boundless creativity. After repeatedly pushing boundaries in game development, he now openly states his ambition to be the first developer globally to "scan ghosts into a game" for his upcoming horror title, "OD".

In the recently released "OD" trailer, actress Sophia Lillis's character lights a candle in a dimly lit room. As the surroundings grow increasingly eerie, an atmosphere of dread steadily closes in.

Kojima later revealed during a presentation that this scene was created from a real-world location they actually scanned. He further stated, "I want to travel to terrifying places around the world, scan ghosts into the game, and hopefully win an award for it."

Kojima also disclosed that strange sounds had been heard within Kojima Productions. Pointing to the trailer scene, he asked, "Did you hear that crackling sound? That's actually a sound we recorded in the studio." He added that unusual noises were once common in the studio, speculating, "Perhaps there really were ghosts back then, but they're not there anymore."

To ensure the game's development remains free from supernatural interference, Kojima jokingly mentioned that he and the Microsoft team even visited a shrine together. Their purpose was to pray that the produced version "wouldn't be haunted by ghosts." This remark not only showcased his unique sense of humor once again but also further heightened anticipation for "OD."

"OD" is a new horror game developed by Kojima in collaboration with Microsoft and published by Xbox. A formal release date has not yet been announced. Players widely believe that Kojima's approach, which blends real-world supernatural elements into development, could deliver an entirely new experience for the horror genre.
