Gareth Evans, director of "The Raid" franchise, has a well-documented affinity for crime thrillers. From his breakout hit "The Raid" to the crime series "Gangs of London," which he co-created, and his recent Netflix action film "Havoc," all are set against a backdrop of organized crime. His next feature, "A Colt Is My Passport," continues this trend, and the cast for the new project was finally revealed today.

Deadline reported earlier today that the film's ensemble cast includes Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, who previously collaborated with Evans on "Gangs of London"; Jack Reynor, known for "Transformers: Age of Extinction"; Noah Taylor, from "Edge of Tomorrow"; Lucy Boynton; Tim Roth; Victor Alli; and Burn Gorman, among others.

"A Colt Is My Passport" is financed and distributed by Amazon and MGM. The screenplay was penned by Chris Webb, a former stunt performer who previously worked with Evans on "Apostle" and "Havoc." The film is a remake of the 1967 Japanese gangster film of the same name, "A Colt Is My Passport." This new adaptation is set in 1978 Detroit and follows Colt, a Vietnam War veteran who becomes a hitman and goes on the run after assassinating a mob boss.
