The GASHAPON brand, a capsule toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product in its Mobile Suit Gundam-themed capsule toy series, 'MS MECHANICAL BUST'. The "MS MECHANICAL BUST DX Unicorn Gundam Unit 3 Phenex", from "Mobile Suit Gundam UC", is scheduled for release in late March 2026. This product will be sold exclusively through Bandai's official online channel, GASHAPON ONLINE.
The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Unit 3 "Phenex" is an experimental Unicorn series mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces after regaining control of the "UC Project" from the Vist Foundation. Its armor is coated with the same golden anti-beam coating as the Hyaku-Shiki, and it carries two "Armed Armor DE" units on its back. Like its brother units, it can transform into "Destroy Mode" upon activation. However, in Universal Century 0095, during a machine test mission, the Phenex engaged in combat with the AMX-107R ReBawoo, a mobile suit belonging to the Neo Zeon remnants "The Sleeves". In an attempt to counterattack, the NT-D System's limitations were lifted, causing it to go berserk. After a period of indiscriminate destruction, the Phenex, along with its pilot, departed the test area and its whereabouts became unknown.
The "MS MECHANICAL BUST DX Unicorn Gundam Unit 3 Phenex" is based on the previously released Unicorn Gundam Unit 1, modified with new parts to recreate its distinct head antenna design. The magnificent golden anti-beam coating on the armor is reproduced with gold paint, and the internal "Psycoframe" parts are made with newly molded clear blue plastic.
This set includes three types of capsules with roughly the same distribution: "Unicorn Mode Outer Armor", "Destroy Mode Outer Armor", and "Inner Frame (including light-up units ✕2)". The armor for both modes can be combined with the inner frame to form a bust model approximately 11.5 cm tall. Furthermore, LED light-up units can be installed in the head and chest of the inner frame, allowing the bust to display the cool illuminated camera eye and chest Psycoframe!
