The ever-expanding "John Wick" universe continues to grow, with "John Wick 5" still in development while its spin-off slate rapidly branches out. Already released are "The Continental: From the World of John Wick" and "Ballerina: A John Wick Story."
Recently, Variety magazine, in an article profiling Hollywood's rising screenwriters, mentioned that Austin Everett is currently penning a "John Wick" universe spin-off that will blend samurai and Western elements. No further details about the project were provided.

In addition to the aforementioned samurai-Western project, other "John Wick" universe spin-offs currently in development include a solo film for Donnie Yen's blind assassin Caine, a Japanese animated prequel film depicting John Wick's final mission before his retirement, and a series titled "John Wick: Under The High Table", which will delve deeper into the High Table. However, "The Continental" and "Ballerina" have not been well-received by the market; the former garnered poor critical reviews, while the latter struggled at the box office. It remains to be seen if the upcoming spin-offs can reverse this trend.
