You might have seen the story of Superman reimagined as a terrifying, corrupted version in "Brightburn," but you likely haven't witnessed the childhood of Jesus Christ, who also grew up to be a savior, depicted as a horror film. Lotfy Nathan's new film, "The Carpenter's Son," following his acclaimed work on "Harka," is conceived with this very idea, offering a different perspective on Jesus's story. The film recently released its first trailer.

Official Synopsis: Joseph the Carpenter, his wife Mary, and their child Jesus have lived under the threat of supernatural forces for years, yet they cling to their faith and traditions. However, during a brief stop in a remote village in Roman-era Egypt after years of fleeing, they trigger a severe disturbance. A mysterious stranger, a young girl, attempts to lure Jesus away from his devout father's teachings. Each temptation draws Jesus into a forbidden world, and a terrified Joseph realizes an evil force is subtly at work. Violent and abnormal events inexplicably follow Jesus, and he begins to foresee nightmarish visions of the future. Ultimately, he uncovers the terrifying true identity of the girl, and her real name: Satan.
Nicolas Cage stars as Joseph, British singer FKA twigs as Mary, Noah Jupe as Jesus, and Isla Johnston as Satan. The film is slated for a November 14 release in North America.
