Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd. GASHAPON brand, known for its MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE capsule toy series from "Mobile Suit Gundam" featuring common connection points and infinite customization, has announced the latest product from the theatrical anime film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM", the "Destiny Gundam SpecII", slated for release in February 2026.
Piloted by Shin Asuka, the ZGMF/A-42S2 Destiny Gundam Spec II is a new mobile suit that was secretly recovered after the original Destiny Gundam was severely damaged in the previous great war by the Eternal and then repaired and improved with the latest technology by Morgenroete, Inc.. In addition to being upgraded with a new all-around monitor cockpit and replaced joint armor material, its power system was also significantly improved. The substantial increase in energy also resulted in a deeper color for the Variable Phase Shift (VPS) armor when activated.
The "MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE Destiny Gundam SpecII" is a modification of the previously released Destiny Gundam. The entire unit's color scheme has been replaced with the deeper SpecII version, featuring detailed sculpting at an approximate height of 6.5 cm and articulated joints. It comes with a rich array of armaments, including the new "MA-M80S Prototype 35th-Type Kai Railgun", "MMI-714 Arondight Beam Sword", "M2000GX High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon", Beam Rifle, Shield, Beam Shield, Beam Boomerang, and Wings of Light effects, allowing for dynamic battle poses. Additionally, it includes a set of red frame replacement parts to replicate the appearance of the joints glowing red when performing clones.
