Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes, known for "Skyfall," is currently deep in production on his ambitious four-part biopic about The Beatles, and a new cast member has just been announced: Saoirse Ronan. She is set to portray Linda Eastman, Paul McCartney's first wife.

Each installment of the four-film series will be told from the perspective of a single band member. All four films are slated for a simultaneous release in April 2028, with production expected to span over a year, averaging three to four months per film. Ronan's role is primarily featured in the McCartney-centric installment, with the extent of her appearances in the other three films yet to be confirmed.

The rest of the announced cast and their respective roles include Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon. Additionally, Anna Sawai will play Lennon's second wife, Yoko Ono, and Aimee Lou Wood is cast as Harrison's first wife, Patti Boyd.

The impressive screenwriting team features Peter Straughan ("Conclave"), Jack Thorne ("Adolescence"), Jez Butterworth (co-writer of "Ford v Ferrari"), and Krysty Wilson-Cairns, who previously collaborated with Mendes on "1917." Notably, this project marks the first narrative feature film in history to secure official music rights from all four Beatles.
