Japanese toy company IKIMON's capsule toy brand ARTUNIV TECHNI COLOUR (ATC) has teamed up with Japanese craftsman Jiyu (@piyopiyo1906) to release a set of futuristic capsule toys called 'Kanitama' (tentative translation, カニタマ) in January 2026! The suggested retail price is 500 yen per capsule, with a total of four styles to collect.
The popular work 'Kanitama', designed by Jiyu, quickly sells out at major exhibitions and can transform from a sphere into a robotic crab! It will be manufactured in an eco-friendly capsule toy format! The capsule comes out as a highly tangible sphere, which can transform into an impressive 7.5 cm tall mech crab through a precise transformation mechanism! It also features 25 points of articulation and comes in four colors: red, blue, orange, and white. Having one on your desk or in your hand gives you the feeling of having a mechanical little helper nearby, immersing you in a fun sci-fi world. We are really looking forward to this capsule toy that incorporates Jiyu's ingenious mechanism design!
