Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company HOBBY Division has announced the latest product from the luxurious 1/100 scale Gunpla **'MGEX'** series, the **"MGEX 1/100 Strike Freedom Gundam [Mechanical Clear]"** from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY", scheduled for release in January 2026. This product will be sold exclusively on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The **ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam** is a Mobile Suit piloted by protagonist **Kira Yamato** in "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY". Equipped with a Hyper Deuterion Engine that generates a massive amount of energy, it can deploy a large array of high-firepower beam weapons such as High-energy Beam Rifles, "Xiphias 3" Rail Cannons, and "Palma Fiocina" Beam Cannons. Furthermore, its back is equipped with "Super DRAGOON" Mobile Weapon Wings, which deploy a total of 8 "Beam Assault Cannons" for all-range attacks, allowing Kira's Super Coordinator abilities to simultaneously lock onto numerous enemy units.
The **"MGEX 1/100 Strike Freedom Gundam [Mechanical Clear]"** is a modification of the previously released regular version kit. All exterior armor parts, except for black and gray, have been replaced with colorless clear parts, offering high transparency to directly view the internal structure. This is complemented by a golden inner frame crafted with various gold plating, multiple metallic molding colors, and etched metal stickers, presenting a shimmering golden body that differs from the original style.
Aside from the color, the specifications are identical to the regular version, inheriting the articulation technology cultivated in the MG and RG series. The neck features a flexible 3-axis movable joint, the forearms and forefeet have independent movable axes, and the waist and legs all incorporate interlocking armor mechanisms for more natural movement. More exaggerated armor deployment mechanisms are present in areas such as the skirt armor, shoulder armor, rear calf thrusters, and "Super DRAGOON" Mobile Weapon Wings, allowing for significant exposure of the internal gold frame. The weaponry faithfully reproduces the combination mechanism of two High-energy Beam Rifles to form a "Long Range Beam Rifle", the deployment/extension mechanism of the "Xiphias 3" Rail Cannons on both sides of the waist, and the ejection/detachment state of the 8 Mobile Weapon Wings. Effect parts for the Beam Saber and Beam Shield are also included.
