Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, known for its popular alloy toy **'METAL BUILD'** series, has officially announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny," the **"Force Impulse Gundam,"** scheduled for release in March 2026.
In the series, the ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam, piloted by **Shin Asuka**, is a new "second-generation series" mobile suit developed under the leadership of P.L.A.N.T. Chairman **Gilbert Durandal**. Although restricted by the Junius Treaty from using nuclear engines, its new deuterium beam power supply system still provides stable energy. Furthermore, it developed a new equipment exchange mechanism, the "Silhouette System," inspired by the Striker Packs of the Strike Gundam, allowing equipment to be transported to the battlefield by drones and forms to be switched without returning to the mothership. Among these, the most versatile "Force Silhouette" equipment features a high-mobility thruster pack on its back, enabling excellent flight capabilities in both space and within the atmosphere.
The **"METAL BUILD Force Impulse Gundam"** invites "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny" mechanical animation director **Satoshi Shigeta** as supervisor and was redesigned by the team of **Yoichi Sakamoto, Koma, and Hiroyuki Hirose**, who previously developed popular products such as "Strike Freedom Gundam" and "Freedom Gundam CONCEPT 2." It is crafted with movable alloy frame parts, and the exterior armor parts feature a weapon-like hard texture, precise detailing, and a heavy-feeling color application with abundant body markings, resulting in a sharp and cool design.
The biggest feature of this product is that while utilizing an alloy frame, it also incorporates flexible articulation and the separation, transformation, and combination mechanism from the original setting. The Force Impulse Gundam can separate into four units: **Core Splendor, Chest Flyer, Leg Flyer, and Force Silhouette**, each transforming into a flight form. The connecting parts for each section during combination are also made of alloy, ensuring durability during play.
The armaments include a High-Energy Beam Rifle, Mobile Shield, Folding Razor Anti-Armor Knife, "Excalibur" Laser Anti-Ship Sword, and Vajra Beam Saber. The Mobile Shield can reproduce its deployed form via an expansion mechanism, and the Folding Razor Anti-Armor Knife can be stored in the side skirts. The "Excalibur" Laser Anti-Ship Sword features an original model-specific blade extension mechanism, and with three beam effect parts, it can display three states: normal mode, extended blade mode, and maximum beam output mode!
