Japanese model maker Sentinel's popular alloy action figure "RIOBOT" series has announced its latest product from the "Getter Robo" series, "Shin Getter Dragon Black VER.", scheduled for release in March 2026.
This version of Shin Getter Dragon adopts the same "DYNAMIC PLANNING original machine" setting as "Super Robot Wars 30", an ultimate Getter Robo developed by Dr. Saotome, and is a different machine from Shin Dragon. Although this machine does not have transformation and combination mechanisms like other Getters, it can use powerful Getter Rays to change its body structure. When piloted by Ryoma, it can wield two Getter Tomahawks and fire Getter Beams. When piloted by Hayato, it can perform the "Shin Liger Attack" reminiscent of Getter Liger, using arm drills and back thrusters. When piloted by Benkei, it can perform the "Shin Poseidon Attack" reminiscent of Getter Poseidon, using Getter Cyclone and steel finger nets to unleash the Great Avalanche.
This time, the "Shin Getter Dragon Black VER." was designed under the supervision of DYNAMIC PLANNING with an original color scheme reminiscent of Black Getter. It is a modified version of the previously released regular edition. The entire body is painted with matte black, glossy black, and other colors to express its jet-black physique, and features transparent sections that reveal Getter Rays and internal structures. The product also includes some newly sculpted parts; the head features a metallic mask similar to "Black Getter," and spiked hand parts are added.
Other specifications are basically the same as the regular version. It has a height of approximately 21 cm. Some exterior armor and joints are made of alloy parts, boasting one of the best ranges of articulation among "RIOBOT" series products. Accessories include two signature giant Getter Tomahawks (long and short). The arms and back can be equipped with drills and large thrusters, respectively, to recreate the "Shin Liger Attack" pose. The back thrusters can also be attached to both arms to recreate giant hands, or attached to the Getter Tomahawk handle for use as a hammer-type weapon.
