Fifteen years after its predecessor, the fifth installment of "Shrek" is gearing up for release. While its first trailer dropped in late February, specific plot details have remained tightly under wraps. However, renowned entertainment insider MyTimeToShineHello recently offered a glimpse into some rumored details.
According to their scoop, Shrek and his companions will reportedly stumble into the real world in the fifth film and become trapped there. They will also encounter Lord Farquaad, the main antagonist from the first movie. Surprisingly, Farquaad's new profession in the real world is said to be the operator of a "Shrek-themed park," reminiscent of Universal Studios. Further details regarding the conflict that will arise between Lord Farquaad and Shrek are currently unavailable.

"Shrek 5" will be co-directed by Walt Dohrn, known for the "Trolls" franchise, and Conrad Vernon, who helmed "Shrek 2." The core voice cast from the first four films — Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, and Cameron Diaz as Fiona — are all confirmed to return. New to the cast is Zendaya, who will voice Felicia, the daughter of Shrek and Fiona. The film is slated for a summer release in North America on June 30, 2027.
