George Clooney, whose acting output has noticeably slowed in recent years, is highly selective about his scripts. Aside from a Netflix film slated for December, "Jay Kelly", and a fourth installment of "Ocean's Eleven" currently in development, Deadline recently reported that Clooney's future slate now includes "In Love," a film adaptation of a memoir, with the director and lead actress also announced.

"In Love" is adapted from American author Amy Bloom's personal memoir, "In Love: A Memoir of Love and Loss." The book chronicles how Bloom's life with her husband was profoundly impacted after his Alzheimer's diagnosis, and his ultimate decision to travel to Switzerland for assisted suicide.
The film is confirmed to be directed by Paul Weitz, co-director of the first "American Pie" and "About a Boy." Weitz will also co-write the screenplay with Bloom. Golden Globe winner Annette Bening is slated to portray Bloom, while Clooney will play Bloom's husband. A distributor and release date have not yet been set.
