Evangelion x Transformers 'SYNERGENEX EVA Unit-01 Optimus Prime' Prototype Revealed - Collaboration Toy Returns After Many Years!

TAKARA TOMY, a Japanese toy company, under its high-end toy brand T-SPARK, recently showcased the developing prototype for its latest product, the "EVA Unit-01 Optimus Prime (tentative)", a collaboration between its transforming robot toy series "Transformers" and the anime series "Evangelion" for the external collaboration toy "SYNERGENEX" series. It is scheduled for release within 2026.

This product merges the iconic images of "Optimus Prime" and "EVANGELION Unit-01", redesigned into a transforming robot toy, the "EVA Unit-01 Optimus Prime (tentative)", utilizing TAKARA TOMY's long-cultivated technology. This marks the return of a collaboration after 11 years, following the release of the Unit-01 colored Optimus Prime, "TRANSFORMERS MP-10 CONVOY MODE “EVA”", in 2014.

Currently, the development prototype for "SYNERGENEX EVA Unit-01 Optimus Prime (tentative)" has also been revealed. The overall design is based on the "BB-02 Legendary Optimus Prime" Optimus Prime body, which was released in 2018 to coincide with the movie "Bumblebee". The entire figure incorporates a large number of new designs echoing the "EVA Unit-01" aesthetic. It can transform from truck mode to robot mode, and even the head can switch from a normal mode resembling Optimus Prime to a berserk mode reminiscent of Unit-01. Weapons are expected to include an Ion Blaster, an Energon Axe incorporating the image of the Lance of Longinus, and two High-Vibration Particle Blades.
