BANDAI CANDY, the Candy Toy division of Bandai Co., Ltd. in Japan, has showcased the in-development prototype of the latest product, "Hyperion", from the game "Super Robot Wars OG", for its popular plastic model candy toy series "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT". This item will be sold exclusively on Bandai's official online store PREMIUM BANDAI in the future.
The XAM-008-HI Hyperion first appeared in "Super Robot Wars Alpha 2". It is the combined form of the units "Arterion" and "Beryllion", whose names are derived from Altair and Vega respectively, and is piloted by the protagonist Ebis, Ai Takakura, and Srei. This unit is known as the culmination of the 77 series machines in the "TD Project". With a total of four "Tesla Drives" after combining, it can achieve the interstellar travel capability sought by the TD Project. It also possesses extremely high mobility in combat form and can unleash powerful armaments such as "Twin GG Cannon", "Sonic Blade", and "Solar Spikes".
Recently, BANDAI CANDY showcased the in-development prototype of "SMP Hyperion", but it was in the separated forms of "Arterion" and "Beryllion". The overall size and proportion are consistent with previous "Super Robot Wars OG" series releases in SMP. Arterion stands approximately 13 cm tall in DF form, while Beryllion is even larger. Both the front and back feature intricate detailing. Accessories are expected to include various weapons and effect parts, and it can recreate deployment mechanisms such as the "G-Drive Cannon".
