The recently concluded second season of "Peacemaker" introduced audiences to the extraterrestrial dimension known as "Salvation Run," an alien prison specifically designed to hold super-powered villains. Viewers widely speculated that Salvation Run would become a crucial setting for future DC Universe storylines. Confirming these suspicions and the groundwork laid by "Peacemaker," DC Films recently registered a trademark for a film titled "Salvation Run."

In DC Comics, "Salvation Run" refers to a seven-issue limited series. The storyline depicts Amanda Waller directing members of the Suicide Squad to apprehend numerous supervillains and transport them to the Salvation Run prison. Even Suicide Squad members deemed no longer useful are eventually incarcerated there. Among the prisoners, The Joker and Lex Luthor later emerge as the two dominant leaders on the planet, each commanding factions of villains who battle for survival in the treacherous environment.

While DC Films' precise plans for Salvation Run remain unconfirmed, the registration of numerous related merchandise trademarks strongly suggests that the studio has significant intentions for the concept.
