BANDAI SPIRITS Company's collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS has announced the latest product in its classic giant soft vinyl toy series, "Jumbo Machineder": "Grendizer", from the classic robot anime "UFO Robo Grendizer", is scheduled for release in May 2026.
"Jumbo Machineder (ジャンボマシンダー)" is a popular series of giant soft vinyl toys launched by POPY Toy Company (now: BANDAI TOY DIVISION) between 1973 and 1982, which was once a sensation in Japan. This series featured highly popular hero characters of the time, such as Mazinger Z and Kamen Rider, creating soft vinyl toys with a total height of approximately 60 cm, and further developing original toy armaments and play features.
This product commemorates the 50th anniversary of "UFO Robo Grendizer", reissuing the popular 1975 toy "Jumbo Machineder Grendizer" using modern technology. It retains the impressive 60 cm height and faithfully reproduces its retro body proportions, color scheme, and upright stance. The waist also restores the Japanese title LOGO of "UFO Robo Grendizer". In terms of articulation, in addition to the arms being able to rotate upwards, Grendizer also features a "neck up-and-down articulation mechanism" not found in other products in the series, allowing for poses of flying into space.
Regarding armament accessories, Grendizer is equipped with a total of 14 original missiles on its shoulders, calves, and other areas. Pressing the buttons on both arms allows for the launch of both fists, recreating the "Rocket Punch" attack. The "Double Harken" weapons stored in the shoulders can be pulled out and equipped on both hands, combining into a double-headed mode. Additionally, it includes the "Great Decisive Weapon ZZ-2 Super Rapid-Fire Missile", which was sold separately at the time. This can be equipped by replacing the right hand part. Similar to the missiles on the shoulders and calves, these can be launched via a spring mechanism.
