Panda's Hole "Braided Animals" Gashapon: Mysterious Species with Peculiar Braids Born to Adapt to Drastic Environmental Changes!

Japan's TAKARA TOMY toy company's gashapon brand, Panda's Hole (パンダの穴), which consistently leaves a deep impression with its quirky creations, will release a peculiar new animal-themed work this October: "Braided Animals" (tentative translation, 三つ編ニマル)! The suggested retail price is 500 JPY per capsule, with a total of five types to collect.

In the present day, with drastic changes occurring in the natural environment, strange reports have emerged from various places about "animals found with braided appearances." After investigation, it was discovered that these mysterious new species' self-"braided" forms seem to be a survival technique to adapt to the new environment... This work is based on this interesting premise, bringing the peculiar animals from the investigation reports into three-dimensional form! The product name "Braided Animals" (三つ編ニマル / mitsuanimal) is a combination of "三つ編み" (mitsua-mi, braid) and "アニマル" (animal).

The Braided Animals include specially transformed "Giraffe," "Lion," "Elephant," "Crocodile," and "Flamingo." They are all three individuals fused into one, forming a three-braid shape at various parts such as the neck, tail, body, and nose, indeed looking quite bizarre. At the same time, the Panda's Hole design team has also given these animals interesting new settings. For example, the giraffe, having three heads at once, has overcome its previous light sleep issues, allowing one head to take turns being vigilant while the other two can enter deep sleep.
