The "Creature Encyclopedia" (いきもの大図鑑) product series, released by Bandai Toy Company's GASHAPON division in Japan and known for faithfully recreating realistic details of creatures from the natural world, has launched its latest installment, "Creature Encyclopedia Repti Dinosaur Vol. 4" (いきもの大図鑑レプティ 恐竜04), following the dinosaur-themed Vol. 1, Vol. 2, and Vol. 3! It is currently available for purchase on GASHAPON ONLINE, with shipping expected to begin in late February 2026. The suggested retail price is 500 Japanese Yen per capsule, and there are five types to collect.
For this installment, Japanese sculptor Nendo Seijin (ねんど星人), renowned for his expertise in depicting animals and monsters, was once again invited to sculpt the prototypes, while Japanese animal sculptor Jiro Miura was responsible for the coloring. In addition to continuing the series' style of combining delicate realism with a Q-version (chibi) proportion, the hard leathery texture, organic gradients, and muscular lines of the dinosaurs' bodies are fully expressed. Just holding them in your palm is incredibly satisfying!
The new dinosaurs included in this collection feature the "Carnotaurus" with its impressive horns on its head, and the "Mosasaurus," king of the ocean. The Carnotaurus's horns have a strong presence, and its face is quite ferocious! Its extremely short forelimbs are also faithfully recreated, appearing even more miniature than the Tyrannosaurus's forelimbs from the same series. The Mosasaurus, which sets a new size record for the series at 11.5 cm long, comes with a rock-themed base. The Carnotaurus boasts 9 points of articulation, while the Mosasaurus features 8. Additionally, the Spinosaurus, which appeared in Vol. 2, makes a reappearance in a new color.
Carnotaurus (Brown) / カルノタウルス（ブラウン）
Carnotaurus (Gray) / カルノタウルス（グレイ）
Mosasaurus (Blue) / モササウルス（ブルー）
Mosasaurus (Black) / モササウルス（ブラック）
Spinosaurus (Green) / スピノサウルス（グリーン）
