Hasbro, the renowned American toy manufacturer, has unveiled a new product based on the comic series "Transformers: Spotlight" – the "Optimus Prime Deluxe Collector Set." The suggested retail price is US$84.99, with an anticipated release in June 2026!
The concept behind this Optimus Prime Deluxe Collector Set is incredibly interesting, drawing inspiration from the three stages of toy production, allowing toy enthusiasts to glimpse into the world of designers and engineers! The set includes three versions: a gray model, a prototype, and a finished product. The Gray Model represents the transformation from 2D to 3D, where design drawings and CAD engineering diagrams first take physical form; the Prototype is presented in its molded color, symbolizing the mold undergoing multiple tests and adjustments to ensure the highest quality; the Production (finished product) is the final completed version, showcasing exquisite paintwork, metallic luster, and intricate details!
The model itself stands approximately 11.5 cm tall. The sculpting faithfully recreates Optimus Prime's iconic inverted triangle physique from "Transformers: Spotlight," and all versions feature transformation capabilities, allowing them to convert into Optimus Prime's signature truck alt mode! Both the gray model and the prototype are presented in their molded colors, appearing visually simpler, while the finished product boasts over 160 points of intricate paint details, meticulously flat-painted to reproduce the visual effects from the comic! Each version comes with three accessories: the Matrix of Leadership, a blaster, and an energon axe. The energon axe is sculpted with a motion blur effect, allowing for the recreation of high-speed slashing poses!
The packaging is also thoughtfully designed, featuring a metallic-textured collector's print and pattern on the exterior, along with a window design that allows the model to be displayed without opening the box! The back of the packaging features other steps from the design and development process, echoing the concept of this product!
