The 'HG (High Grade)' series of Gunpla, launched by the HOBBY Division of BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. Japan, which boasts the most comprehensive range of mobile suits and faithfully recreates their anime appearances, has announced the commercialization of the protagonist mobile suit "Gundam Barbatos Adapt" from "Interlude," the new short animation commemorating the 10th anniversary of "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans." It will later be sold exclusively on BANDAI's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.

The new animation "Interlude" depicts the story between the first and second seasons of "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans." The mobile suit "ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos 6th Form," piloted by protagonist Mikazuki Augus, suffered severe damage in the major battle at Edmonton at the end of the first season. The Tekkadan engineers temporarily repaired it due to a lack of resources. It operated in this form on the front lines until Teiwaz later assisted in its modification into the "Gundam Barbatos Lupus." However, issues such as malfunctioning thrusters and significant wear on the frame emerged. Even using its signature weapon, the "Mace," could cause the mobile suit to fall apart. Therefore, it was re-equipped with one large and one small tachi provided by Teiwaz, also using Barbatos to collect combat data for the tachis.

Currently, only the mobile suit's design settings for "Gundam Barbatos Adapt" have been revealed; no prototype information for the HG 1/144 model has been released yet. However, judging from the mobile suit's design sketches, the product will require numerous new molded parts and new separation designs to faithfully recreate details such as the damaged head antenna, the patched-up exterior armor, and the spare thrusters suspended on the outer waist and legs.
