The latest product from the 'ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E.' series of robot-themed action figures, released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, is the 'Desert Zaku ver. A.N.I.M.E. ~MS MUSEUM~' from 'Mobile Suit Gundam MSV', slated for release in April 2026.
The MS-06D Desert Zaku is a mobile suit modified from the 'Ground Type Zaku' by the Principality of Zeon during the One Year War for their Earth invasion operations. To overcome the swirling dust and intense heat of the African front's savannas and deserts, its head features a short-range communication antenna design, its joints are sealed to prevent sand intrusion, its armor is lightweight, auxiliary thrusters are added to the waist, and a large cooling unit is mounted on its backpack.
The 'ROBOT魂 Desert Zaku ver. A.N.I.M.E. ~MS MUSEUM~' is a modified version of the standard release from 2016, crafted as an articulated finished product approximately 12.5 cm tall. It retains the original sleek design, closely matching the mobile suit's concept art, and features flexible articulation. The exterior colors have been redesigned in a 'Real Type' style, and new body markings have been added to convey the mobile suit's performance. When displayed with the included nameplate, printed with the unit's number and name, and the display stand, it perfectly evokes the atmosphere of 'an actual mobile suit standing in a museum.'
Furthermore, the product comes with a rich array of weapon accessories. The head can be optionally replaced with a twin-antenna tropical specification. The armaments include an M-120AS Machine Gun, SA-712 Grenade Launcher Pod, Combat Armor ×2, 3-tube Missile Pod ×2, and P-3 2-tube Missile Pod ×2. Beyond static display, it can also be posed in various combat stances with its diverse weaponry.
