《Acid Rain: Entropy Ark》Story Synopsis
The Black Soil Continent is known as the most "natural and harmonious" forbidden land in the Acid Rain world. After the fanatical cultists of the Gani Holy Order stole Babel technology for "purification," it has been largely uninhabited for decades. Unknown interference causes various detectors to malfunction, ships find it difficult to approach, and information is cut off from the outside world.
Major and minor powers have dispatched fleets to land, but either both people and ships mysteriously disappeared, or the survivors returned inexplicably demented and died within a short period. Multiple unknown elements were detected in the survivors, and even a strange substance capable of continuing to grow after death was found within their bodies. These mysterious allurements have stirred the ambitions of various major powers, with New Atlantis, one of the three major logistics giants, being the most proactive. This is because the Black Soil Continent is the optimal transit point on their Far East shipping route. Conquering it would not only yield dozens of times the profit growth but also allow them to seize the initiative and curb the development of their competitor, Pacific Storage & Transport. Furthermore, the newly discovered substances could potentially become one of the most important resources in the future. Simultaneously, the Black Soil Continent houses a Babel technology research institute; if some cutting-edge equipment and data could be recovered, it would undoubtedly lead to significant breakthroughs in New Atlantis' technological development.
Therefore, New Atlantis launched the Entropy Ark Project, using shipping berths and shared development results as bait, inviting allies to send elites, and coercing and enticing desperadoes to participate, forming a fleet to explore and develop this continent. Concurrently, volunteers are openly recruited to shed their past lives and identities, becoming experimental subjects, becoming "boat people," and becoming the first batch of future "new immigrants."
THAME LORD
Raines, codenamed "Lord," is a top expert in New Atlantis' emergency response unit, specializing in complex biochemical threats and unknown incidents. He is sharp, decisive, tough as steel, and exudes a leader's authority amidst his calm demeanor. He has repeatedly used decisive measures to resolve "purification" crises instigated by the Gani Holy Order, making him a hero but also drawing considerable skepticism—his methods against the Gani Holy Order seem to stem not merely from a sense of justice, but more like a personal vendetta.
WAR BANNER WAR BANNER
The elite representative dispatched by the New Avica Eastern States (NAES) is Second Lieutenant "War Banner" Warlock, a Marine Corps officer who currently holds immense prestige within the military and is most likely to be promoted to Major ahead of schedule in the future. He is stubborn, arrogant, yet loyal, and his lead-by-example combat style greatly boosts morale in every battle. He deeply understands that the Entropy Ark Project is a high-stakes gamble, tantamount to a suicide mission. However, the Black Soil Continent may harbor secrets that could change humanity's future, and for the sake of the New Federation's future, he voluntarily enlisted in the project.
SKULLWELDER SKULLWELDER
"Skullwelder" Rios was originally a mercenary on New Atlantis' clandestine special shipping routes, or more accurately, a prisoner who had committed numerous heinous acts. Born without pain receptors, he was treated as an outcast from childhood, becoming extremely volatile and battle-hungry, seeking thrills and craving pain, finding peace amidst unknown dangers. Joining the "Entropy Ark Project" to a perilous place like the Black Soil Continent is a dream come true for him.
PROTEUS PROTEUS
The Proteus series comprises multi-functional tactical mechanical soldiers custom-designed by New Atlantis for the Entropy Ark Project. The first six units have been deployed to "Lord" Raines' squad. Their chips are loaded with all known Black Soil Continent data and can perform real-time monitoring and early warning for soil, water quality, air, and other data, minimizing risks and planning safe routes. They serve not only as the commander's database and advisor but also as security escorts, ensuring the commander's survival and mission completion.
The market is currently flooded with countless products offering extremely high value for money, making it a formidable challenge to make one's own company's products stand out! Therefore, Hong Kong local manufacturer Fext Hobby, in collaboration with Master Jay's Acid Rain series, has jointly created a 1/12 Acid Rain action figure series reminiscent of American-style toys! With high articulation, appealing designs, and most importantly, an affordable price, it aims to entice you to acquire them!
The figures stand approximately 160mm tall! Accessories primarily include detachable helmets, exoskeleton parts, and various weapons!
The appearance is very eye-catching, with an overall feel similar to American-style blank bodies. All parts are made of soft plastic, making them very safe to handle. Although priced at around HKD 250, it still includes a detachable reinforced exoskeleton, various weapons, and other features that enhance playability! The most pleasant surprise is that the helmets on some styles are also detachable, offering a play experience similar to American toys. The main body features paintwork and subtle weathering, with decent articulation. Cost aside, I personally suggest referencing Japanese SHF for the base body! Additionally, regarding hand sculpts, I hope more expressive hands are included besides the gun-holding hands, as this would make posing much more versatile! Furthermore, the assembly of the back exoskeleton attachment was not very smooth. I personally had to shorten the peg to achieve a perfect fit. Honestly, for this price, the quality is truly exceptional, perfectly elevating the Acid Rain military-style series to another level! Friends who love Acid Rain or modern military aesthetics really shouldn't miss out!
I'll say it for the third time! This price, this quality, it's truly irresistible!
