Bandai Company's GASHAPON capsule toy division is launching a new product based on the classic popular anime "Sgt. Frog" – the "Sgt. Frog: Operation Invade as Babies!" capsule toy. Each turn costs 300 JPY, and it is scheduled to be released in late February 2026!
"Sgt. Frog" (ケロロ軍曹) is a monthly manga series created by Japanese manga artist Mine Yoshizaki, which was adapted into a TV anime by Sunrise in 2004. The story follows alien invaders from "Planet Keron" who dispatch Sgt. Keroro and his team for reconnaissance. However, the Sergeant's infiltration into the Hinata household is exposed. The invasion headquarters, deeming the risk of discovery too high, urgently withdraws from Earth, leaving Keroro and his team behind to embark on a boisterous comedic daily life at the Hinata residence.
For this "Sgt. Frog: Operation Invade as Babies!" release, the Keroro Platoon plans to launch a brand new invasion strategy by exploiting Earthlings' tendency to "want to care for cute babies"! The capsule toy lineup includes five types: Sgt. Keroro, Private First Class Tamama, Corporal Giroro, Sergeant Major Kururu, and Lance Corporal Dororo. At approximately 3.5 cm in size, these figures depict the frogs as infants, sucking on pacifiers. Low-saturation colors are used to evoke the soft ambiance of babies in a cradle. Each figure comes with a ball chain, making them super adorable whether displayed as collectibles or hung on a backpack as a charm!
