The legal battle between "It Ends with Us" director and star Justin Baldoni and lead actress and producer Blake Lively has seen new developments. Baldoni's previous lawsuit, which accused Lively of extortion and defamation and sought $400 million in damages, was dismissed in June. The court recently confirmed that Baldoni missed the final deadline to refile his suit, effectively closing that case.
However, this does not signify the end of all disputes surrounding "It Ends with Us." Baldoni still retains the right to appeal, and Lively's lawsuit, accusing Baldoni of damaging her reputation, is ongoing, with a trial scheduled for March of next year.

In addition to the current legal proceedings, Lively's attorneys recently claimed that the actress has suffered significant financial losses due to the controversy, with her image severely impacted. They estimate a loss of at least $56.2 million in acting, producing, and endorsement income. Her beauty brand, Blake Brown, reportedly incurred a $49 million loss, while her beverage brands, Betty Buzz and Betty Booze, lost $22 million. Reputational economic damages are estimated at $34 million, bringing the total alleged losses to approximately $161 million.
Lively's lawyers also stated that these figures are preliminary calculations and will require expert testimony to be substantiated during the trial. They further indicated that presenting a substantial sum is necessary to convey the gravity of the situation to the opposing party and encourage a settlement.
