Rising Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney has once again become a hot topic among DC fans. Following concept artist 21XFour (@21xfour) unveiling new fan art depicting her as "Power Girl," the "Madame Web" actress is once again being touted as a top contender for a major superhero role.
Sweeney's rise in Hollywood has been undeniable, showcasing her versatile acting skills in projects from "Euphoria" to "The White Lotus." However, her starring role in last year's "Madame Web," while highly anticipated, ultimately became a critical and commercial disappointment for Sony Pictures. Sweeney, however, did not criticize the film, instead calling it a "stepping stone" into larger productions.

"I had just started my production company, Fifty-Fifty Films, and I wanted to make sure my name was out there," she revealed in an interview with Empire. "Filming 'Madame Web' helped me open up the market and allowed me to participate in projects that my cousins could understand and find interesting."
While rumors suggest both DC and Marvel are keen to cast her, fans believe Sweeney as Power Girl would be a natural and highly appealing choice. However, DC Studios has already cast Milly Alcock as a new version of Supergirl in James Gunn's upcoming "Superman" film, suggesting Power Girl's big-screen debut might still be some time away.
